When Every Message Matters
In today’s connected world, SMS messages quietly power multiple millions of important interactions every day. Banking alerts, government notifications, business communications, authentication codes, and customer updates all depend on one thing: reliable message delivery.
For Infozillion Teletech BD, the responsibility was even greater. As Bangladesh’s sole Mobile Number Portability Service Provider (MNPSP), Infozillion became responsible for enabling accurate SMS delivery across multiple mobile operators while ensuring every message followed national regulatory requirements.
The challenge was clear: build an infrastructure platform capable of handling massive volumes of Application-to-Person (A2P) SMS traffic, making real-time delivery decisions within milliseconds, while maintaining complete compliance with BTRC regulations.
This was not simply a technology deployment. It was about building a trusted national communication layer that businesses, operators, and millions of mobile users could depend on every day.
The Challenge: Creating Reliability at National Scale
Before this platform was introduced, the industry needed a centralized solution that could manage A2P messaging traffic while ensuring regulatory compliance and performing accurate MNP dipping for each recipient number to identify the correct destination mobile operator. The challenge was not only delivering messages, but creating an infrastructure layer that could handle national-scale communication demands with speed, reliability, and precision.
The first challenge was handling unpredictable traffic patterns. SMS volumes can change dramatically depending on banking transaction peaks, festival campaigns, promotional activities, flash sales, office hours, and month-end operations. The platform needed to instantly absorb these sudden increases in traffic without message delays, queue failures, or performance degradation. Scalability was not simply a technical advantage; it was a fundamental requirement.
The second challenge came with Mobile Number Portability. Customers could switch operators while keeping the same mobile number, meaning every SMS required real-time verification to identify the correct destination network. The system needed to perform MNP dipping for every message request while maintaining extremely low latency. In this environment, every millisecond mattered.
The final challenge was building secure and reliable connectivity across a complex ecosystem of stakeholders, including enterprise SMS aggregators, banks, financial institutions, brand communication platforms, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), and Internet Protocol Telephony Service Providers (IPTSPs). The infrastructure had to enable seamless communication between multiple systems while maintaining high availability, security, and consistent performance at all times.
Our Approach: Solving the Problem at Scale
Real-Time MNP Dipping Engine
One of the most critical components was the MNP dipping engine.
The system needed to identify the correct operator for every mobile number with extremely low latency.
To achieve this, the platform implemented:
- Memory-mapped indexing for ultra-fast number lookup
- Local caching of ported number records
- Optimized routing logic to minimize external database dependency
This enabled routing decisions to happen within milliseconds, allowing messages to continue flowing without unnecessary delays.
Intelligent Mask Verification and Regulatory Filtering
Brand Verification Engine
Every sender mask was validated against approved records before messages were transmitted.
This ensured:
- Authorized sender identity
- Reduced misuse of sender IDs
- Compliance with BTRC requirements
DND and Message Classification Engine
Messages were automatically categorized into:
- Transactional communication
- Promotional communication
The system applied regulatory rules by identifying DND-restricted numbers and preventing non-compliant messages from being delivered.
Compliance became an automated process instead of a manual checkpoint.
High Availability Architecture
The platform was designed around continuous availability. This architecture created a centralized communication layer connecting multiple participants while maintaining performance, security, and reliability.
Impact & Results
Multi-Thousand TPS Performance
The platform successfully handles multi-thousand transactions per second during continuous traffic spikes without performance degradation.
Sub-Second Message Delivery
Optimized delivery architecture and real-time MNP dipping enabled fast message processing while maintaining dipping accuracy.
Nationwide Regulatory Compliance
The platform enabled complete enforcement of:
- Sender mask verification
- MNP routing accuracy
- DND compliance
- Message category classification
A Foundation Ready for the Future
What started as a regulatory requirement became a long-term digital infrastructure foundation.
Today, Infozillion’s MNPSP A2P Gateway continues to support secure, scalable, and compliant communication between businesses, operators, and mobile users across Bangladesh.
Because behind every message delivered successfully, there is an infrastructure story that most people never see.
And that infrastructure has to work every single time.
