Titas Gas’s Journey to a Future-Ready Cloud Platform

Every day, millions of households, along with businesses and industries, depend on uninterrupted gas services. Behind this essential utility is a complex digital ecosystem responsible for billing, payments, customer management, and operational continuity.

For Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC, Bangladesh’s largest state-owned natural gas distributor, digital transformation was not simply about moving systems to a new environment. It was about protecting a critical national service.

Following its designation as Critical Information Infrastructure (CII), Titas Gas required a more secure, scalable, and highly available technology foundation. Their existing on-premises environment needed modernization, but the transition had one non-negotiable requirement:
The services had to continue running without downtime or data loss.

The mission was clear: migrate and optimize the legacy ecosystem into the NDC e-Gov Cloud while maintaining business continuity, strengthening security, and ensuring reliable access for millions of users.

What Made This Migration Complex?

The biggest challenge was ensuring uninterrupted service throughout the entire migration journey. Titas Gas operates a billing ecosystem that supports a large number of daily customer interactions, so even a short disruption could have affected billing, payments, digital service access, and transactions across connected payment channels. The migration therefore had to be carried out while the existing environment remained fully operational, with no impact on customers or ongoing business activities.

To make that possible, the project required detailed migration planning, careful infrastructure preparation, and a strong focus on data protection at every stage. Each component had to be assessed, moved, validated, and monitored without compromising system availability or data integrity. Continuous monitoring and coordinated execution helped ensure a smooth transition to the new environment, while maintaining zero service interruption and zero data loss throughout the migration process.

cloud-infrustructure

Adding to the complexity, Titas Gas operates through its headquarters and multiple zonal offices, all of which rely on stable connectivity to support daily operations. These offices depend on continuous access to internal systems, billing platforms, and other essential services.

The new cloud environment needed to maintain secure and reliable communication between internal systems, regional offices, billing platforms, and external service providers. Every connection had to remain available, protected, and consistent throughout the transformation process.

The billing platform also needed to continue supporting a large and diverse financial ecosystem, with integrations across 40+ banks, Mobile Financial Services (MFS), and digital payment portals. The system required more than just connectivity, it needed accurate transaction processing, secure data exchange, and reliable performance across every payment channel.

At the same time, automated reconciliation and smooth coordination between connected platforms had to remain fully functional. The goal was to build a stronger digital foundation while ensuring that all existing billing and payment services continued operating without disruption.

How We Built a Reliable Cloud Migration Journey

whole-team

Zero-Downtime Data & System Migration

Moving a large-scale billing ecosystem to the cloud without interrupting daily operations was one of the most important parts of this transformation. Our team carefully planned every stage of the migration, from understanding the existing legacy environment to preparing the new cloud infrastructure and validating system performance. Data protection, backup processes, and continuous monitoring were implemented to ensure the transition happened smoothly while keeping services running without disruption.

Enterprise Middleware and API Integration

Behind every successful payment is a complex network of systems working together. Our team built and optimized the middleware layer that connected Titas Gas’s billing platform with banks, Mobile Financial Services (MFS), and digital payment portals. This integration created a smoother transaction flow, allowing different platforms to communicate securely and helping customers complete payments through their preferred channels.

High Availability and Database Optimization

A digital billing platform needs to be available whenever customers need it. Our team optimized the database environment and cloud infrastructure to support higher transaction volumes, improve system performance, and maintain reliable service availability. The result was a stronger and more scalable platform designed to support Titas Gas’s future digital growth.

Secure Encrypted Communication

Security was a key priority throughout the transformation. Our team ensured that communication between internal systems, banks, MFS platforms, and external service providers remained protected through encrypted connections. This helped safeguard sensitive transaction data while maintaining secure and reliable communication across the entire ecosystem.

Building the Digital Future of Essential Services

For critical infrastructure, digital transformation is not measured only by new technology. It is measured by trust.

When millions of people depend on essential services every day, the best transformation is the one users never notice.

Through careful planning, secure cloud engineering, and continuous operational support, Titas Gas moved toward a more resilient digital future while keeping Bangladesh’s energy services running reliably.
